"Its amazing that the obvious message hidden in LOTR has escaped every attempt at analyzing it: that the rings of power are the democratically elected powers in the world, that the one ring of power would be the democratically elected world government, that this power is too immense for anyone to wield without getting corrupted, that Sauron are the evil masterminds in the world who seek to grasp this power, that if they get it everyone will lose their freedom, and that the only way to stop this from happening is to deliberately take this power back to its source which is every democratic parliament in the world, and in a democratic way abolish the power itself in place for local direct-democratic alternatives."
